Anna Navarre

Anna Navarre is one of the two mechs in Deus Ex. In the second mission, she will be JC's partner at one point, but will start to become antagonistic shortly after, and will become an enemy not long later.

Navarre can be killed in three places. First on Lebedev's 747 when she interrupts Lebedev exposing part of the conspiracy; second in the Battery Park subway after the raid on the 'Ton; and third at UNATCO HQ after JC escapes, either through a direct fight, or by using her killphrase. There are also a couple of exploits to get past her without killing her.

Navarre's killphrase is Flatlander Woman but to use it, JC must decipher it. Part of it is on Navarre's own computer in the makeshift office on the way to the level 3 jail, and the other part is on Manderley's computer. Once the player has received both words, JC will automatically say "Take your best shot, flatlander woman" before Anna can fire a shot, ending the fight immediately. (Note that you'll see Gunther's killphrase referenced as well on Navarre's computer, but clicking on it does nothing - you have to get this from Jaime Reyes in Paris by telling him to stay as a spy when he asks.)

At the end of the first game, Anna Navarre is dead, killed by JC Denton. If you use the exploit to get past her, she never makes a later appearance.
